How does a Duocean whale watching excursion with water access work? After you're equipped with fins, mask, snorkel, and wetsuit, the activity begins with a 20-minute briefing to maximize your chances of respectful encounters with the cetaceans: how to adapt to the animals' communication, how to move within a group, technical reminders, understanding the objectives of the activity, etc. Then you'll head out to sea for a preliminary water introduction, without cetaceans, to experience the open ocean while snorkeling, learn approach techniques, and adopt the correct behavior in the water. Next comes the marine safari, actively searching for cetaceans present that day to offer them one or more aquatic encounters through passive observation, depending on their availability. The 7:45 am and 10:45 am excursions are identical. Only 6 participants in the water with the cetaceans. A souvenir video is available on Duocean's Instagram or Facebook page. No dry clothes are allowed on board except: sunglasses (recommended), windbreaker (in winter), hat, T-shirt (summer), and water. Other dry clothes should remain in the cars or the Duocean truck. We advise those with mustaches to shave 1 cm just below their nose for a better mask seal. Snorkeling equipment provided: Wetsuits from XS to XXL Fins from size 34 to 47 Masks and snorkels You will always have the choice of going in the water or staying on the boat, depending on your abilities and preferences at the time. No discount will be given in this case. A shower is available at the dock at the end of the trip. The activity lasts approximately 2.5-3 hours and departs from Saint-Gilles-les-Bains. Duocean is a mobile club operating from a truck. There are no facilities or changing rooms. The meeting point is at the port of Saint Gilles, on the central islet, under the white footbridge for vehicles going to the aquarium.
